Poggio Mandorlo Ansidonina, 58038 Seggiano GR, Italy
Longtime friends Roberto, Felice, Giuseppe and Fabio shared the dream that became The Poggio Mandorlo Project. Poggio Mandorlo Wine Estate, located at the foot of the extinct Monte Amiata volcano, became a reality in 2001.
Poggio Mandorlo Wine Estate is located inside the Montecucco DOC area, at the crossroads of Val d’Orcia and the outposts of Maremmas’ hilly region. The 1300 ft. mountain behind the land sets a quintessential back drop fur the 94 acre estate. The territory has very complex soils: clay and limestone, rich in quartz and flint, perfect for the 30 acres of cultivated Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese grape- vines and 3 acres of olive groves.
Their young winemaker gives the utmost care and love to assure that Poggio Mandorlo wines offer elegant and delicate character with a strong structure and bold intensity. Poggio Mandorlo is proof that dreams can come true.
